Default Shaky DA

Following the B16a swap to my DA, I've some serious vibration and its definately in the drives. They do fit properly, they are straight, the outer cvs are new, inner ones are good, the angles are ok. everything looks fine.

Is it possible that such a vibration could be caused by getting the shafts mixed up and putting the left in the right and vise-versa? I'm stumped on this one.

One thing I've noticed though is that when the car is jacked up with the suspension hanging, if I rotate the right hand wheel I can see the engine and box move, but when I jack the suspension up to with the heekl off the groung and rotate it this doesn't happen. It doesn't happen at all on the left side. This may be to do with it being the side nearer to the box, just thought I'd throw it in anyway.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

edit...the engine is in the bay straight and level, although slightly further back than it would have normally been because my DA originally had a ZC motor in it, so mounts had to be made for it.

ireland huh? crazy. anyways... when does the vibration happen? if it happens under acceleration, then it is the inner joint on the axle going bad. if its just a vibration while cruising, you might want to look into something else like tire balance. i'd say best bet (since you did mess with it) would be the inner joint on one or both axles is bad.

Yeh the Jap motors are very popular over here, imports are very common seeing as we drive on the left here too.

Probably is one or other of the inner joints...althouh I used the original shafts which were fine before the swap. I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and pull them again! Thanks for the help.

First of all your "contribution" has absolutely nothing to do with what is being discussed here.

Secondly I would like to point out to that where I come from it is not in fact a derogatory term, just an abbrieviated form of the word Japanese. Also I would like to mention that I am, in fact, not from England...try reading.

Third - You yourself have used two commonly known derogatory terms in your post.

I would like to apologise to anybody I may have offended. The reason we are here is to help and be helped, I do not wish to offend or be offended.

Mods response:

I agree with this and have included it in the forum rules, if I recall. It has nothing to do with the site getting better or worse, this is ALWAYS how it goes when these messageboards get big. Bandwagons, ganging up on "newbies"...its all ******* lame. Treat people how you want to be treated, internet or reality.
People really need to stop being e-bullies and ******** and just realize we're all here to help each other. I actually delete and dock % when I do catch people being outright jerks, and will continue to do so.
If you think something doesnt belong here, report it to a mod.

If you think its a stupid question, then answer it.

If you think its a redundant question, offer the person a link to the answer and kindly remind them they could have found it by searching.

Simple rules to follow...don't be an *******. Everyone has to start somewhere. There was a time when you didnt know **** and didnt understand the "flow" of this forum either, so just relax and try and be helpful.

THIS WILL BE ENFORCED

1000 some odd posts and you forgot the rules. irish, i can't answer your private message cause its not working for me for some reason.

you asked about how to tell if your motor is obd0 or obd1? you can tell by the year 91 and earlier is obd0 92-95 is obd1, distributor plugs (obd1 uses box style grey plugs, obd0 uses round style cream plugs) and you can also tell by impedence of the injectors, other than that, if the car is a DA (90-93 integra) there really isn't any differences between obd0 and obd1 besides the actual ecu itself (and the power ratings of the motors)

forgot! tranny codes can give a hint to the on board diagnostics level if its the stock tranny for the car and/or motor (y1, j1, s1 are all obd0 b16's, a1, s1 are obd0 LS, ys1 is obd1 cable clutch trans for b17, b16 and LS)

As I said I'm here to help and be helped. That's it. I do not wish to get into stupid arguments. It's a pointless and time-wasting exercise.

FYI, It's leprechaun
