Default Build Newbie

Ok, im not a newbie to cars, I am a ford factory/nissan factory trained tech and ASE certified, but i am new to building motors. Right now I have a B18C1 in a 92 EH VX hatch built suspension for auto X, and im looking to go for an all motor build. I dont want any crazy numbers, i just want something reliable and around 200-250whp.

Give me your thoughts and ideas. It would be most apprciated.

to the wheels??

cause if you want that to the wheels you need a lot of motor work!!!

huge bore
compression
cams
rods
balanced
the whole nine yards

Coul you be a little more specific, i have seen people on here telling others if they want 200whp all motor they dont even have to touch the bottom end, just invest in good head work, cams, gears, valvetrain, fuel management, and good tuning.

If you want 200 whp you wont have to touch the bottom end. But it means you need well over 200 to the crank. Meaning some great head work and good cams good IM, Ignition and so on. If you want 250 to the wheels meaning you will need almost 300 to the crank you will have to do the bottom end.

You need a good flowing, IM,header, head, and cams that are desgined for your set-up. dont over cam it as you will lose power. The proper valvetrain to go with those cams and the revs you will be putting into your motors. A good engine management system and lots of dyno time will help go a long way with getting all the extra hp you need. Remeber its not all about hp, a good powerband will benifit you more than just peak #'s. Good luck
