you should have a bit over 1lb of r-134a in the system. actually, i'm just kidding, i dont remember what the amount is.
anyways, you need to take the car to an authorized place that can take your refrigerant. if they say they're going to charge you to discharge your AC, tell them they are full of ****, they keep the AC and they sell it later so dont let them screw you.
next, remove the AC belt, i usually just cut it off cause its faster. then unbolt the lines from the pump, then unbolt the pump and its bracket from the block. now remove all the brackets from the lines and unbolt the lines from the evaporator (the lines screw into the firewall) and the condensor (in front of the radiator). now pull all the lines and their brackets. i can't remember if theres an accumulator in the lines or not, if there is, pull it with the lines. if you want to get the condensor out, pull the radiator and the fans as one (top two radiator brackets, pull the hoses and take the electric connectors off the fans then pull up). then unbolt the condensor. if you want to get the evaporator out, good luck, that is pretty tough, you have to pull the dash and split the evap case. the evap doesn't weigh very much, either does the condensor, but the pump weighs a pretty good amount
i'd say all in all, you'd pull about 15lbs.

honda uses accessory belts for each accessory it drives. if you have p/s, and a/c then you'll have 3 belts (p/s a/c and alternator)

. as a tech, if you work in a shop or are epa certified and you do this, and you are caught (epa guys are around more than you'd think) then you can get in HUGE trouble. fines such as 10,000 dollars per pound of refrigerant released. if they even hear a hiss, they'll test to see how much is left in the system and they'll charge you for the systems capacity. so if you let out a fraction of an ounce and the system holds 2 lbs, if they see 0 left in the system they'll charge you 2 lbs even though you only let out a little hiss of what was left. its a crappy deal. thats why i wouldn't recommend it but i will give it the double wink if you know what i'm saying
