Help w/ CEL #41
I'm throwing cel 41 on my 96 Civic DX...
Motor is completely stock except I do have a crack on the top portion of my header which leaks a tiny bit of exhuast.
CEL 41 is primary o2 sensor heater, where is my primary 02 sensor? And what could be causing this problem?
Thanks

Well, the O2 sensor is located on the exhaust manifold. It has a wire running from it.
Now could that be your problem. Most probably, but in some cases it is not. Now since you do not seem to have alot of experience with cars, i suggest you change it and see if the code will reappear. If so, come back here for more details.

Unplug the O2 sensor from the main engine harness. Grab a meter and measure the resistance between the two black wires - 15-40ohms is spec (from the Helms).
If you don't have a meter, nor a Helms, then...well...just replace it and hope for the best.

its the wire that heats the o2 so your car can go into open loop faster.
I work at an Acura dealership so im 100% sure you need to replace that o2. I see that code all the time.

So it can get into open-loop faster, ehh?
And you work for Acura?

This much you're probably right about. But wouldn't it suck to replace it and have the code immediately re-appear because something was up with the wiring??
Bust out a meter, measure it, and be sure.
