I've been considering changing my lame-o 1991 civic STD black bumpers to USDM Si, but want to know how much heavier they are. Same for DX bumper. My cars white and thought it would look nice w/ matching white bumpers. Might paint the STD, it'd be original at least.

I saw a dude with JDM bumper (copy?) it looked really clean, but a good deal bulkier and had the wrap around turn signal lights. Any of you guys swapped bumpers? If the weight diff between STD & Si is tiny I'll do it.

Also, which kits look close to stock? (non rice). I just don't like the boxiness of the STD, it has to hurt drag coefficient. Thanky.

 

1st off it depends on your year i believe only 90-91 dx came with color matched bumpers but i think there all weight the same unless paint is super heavy. I use to own a 89 std hatch and all the dx's 88-89 look just like my car they just had the rear wiper.

Could the JDM front bumper be lighter than USDM Si? Its pretty pricey, so a decent copy or low-key kit would be great, & repainting my stockers probably would be the lightest weight solution, just not the coolest looking.
