anyone know how to make the original shift light on a crx work again

Default anyone know how to make the original shift light on a crx work again

i noticed my 88 hf has a shift arrow. Anyone know how to make this work again.

Are you running the stock hf ecu?? Because the ecu has something built in it that activates the little light

Ok,,then you have to run a rpm switch..

There are 5wires for the light..
2 of them are signal wires to light the bulb
Other 2 connect to the dimmer
The 5th wire is not used..Hook up the 5th wire to the rpm switch..And there you go

so the si ecu doesnt have that capability?

it can only be used with a rpm switch

do they carry those at radio shack

No,, only the hf ecu has the control..

I dont know if they have rpm switches at radioshack..Jegs has them for good prices.

summit actually has a very good adjustable rpm activated switch. The msd ones require the pills that are a pain so try to stay away from them.

i read some where that theres a little box on the back of the cluster very simaler to the cruse control box that taped into the tach signal (basicly a rpm swich) and i also remimber reading that it came on at 2300 rpm. but i have been wrong b4... not offen but it has happened
