All depends on your situation, so I wouldn't call it nuts. I'm curious as to why you haven't driven such an incredible car in six months? Is it because of cost? Insurance? Fortunately for you, having one car is fine. The winter months here on the east coast usually requires a summer and winter (all weather type) car. My '05 Civic Si will fulfill the latter. I luv my Si, so you won't get any arguments from me on your trade idea.

To add onto what flatblkCR-X has mentioned, if you can get a good trade for your S2000 (with some money back), and the Si is what you really want, then why not? It's still a Honda! Good luck on your decision and keep us informed.

I dont think its nuts! I really enjoy my Si and beside the s2k is not the most practical car, can only hold 2 people, minimal cockpit space, not a great car in bad weather and what can you fit in it. Dont misunderstand I dont dislike the car, I could just see why someone would switch. The Si is not so bad, in fact to make a really competent car it really only needs suspension setup and better tires. I am planning on doing those two things once warmer weather gets here and I think I will really enjoy mine.

If your current situation depends on a vehicle that seats more than 2, I say good choice.

i can understand. my other car is a miata. my wife's car was another miata. it's not that practical, but great to drive. we drive the Si more than the convertible because it's more convenient and comfortable. still, i would sooner lose an arm than sell the miata (now that it's wholly mine).

it's hard to make payments on a car that you can't use for what you need it to do.

Im trading it in for the SI cause i want to save money. Im getting money back about 3k. I was going to buy a turbo with the money. Also the car is very uncomfortable for long drives, no leg room, not good in bad weather like rain or snow which I don't see. Plus i like civics. I'm going to drive the SI for a few years save money and then see what kind of hybrid cars will be out. I want a hybrid SUV. They are coming out this year.

Well...i suppose the saving money part is a legitimate reason, but im curious about something, given the fact that most people dont just up and buy an S2000 while browsing around a car lot, didnt you know that the car was small and probobly wouldnt be the most fun car to drive in inclement weather? You said it wasnt "good" to drive in those conditions, id have to say that the car is just fine in those conditions, but it might not be the most fun car to drive in those conditions because of course having the top up kinda ruin's part of the car's appeal.

Did you finance this S2000? How long have you had it? I can tell you that you wont get **** for trade in...and unless you put ALOT of money down, you arnt going to be $3K in the plus on it. They can tell you they'll give you whatever at the dealership but it will just be factored into the price of the car you purchase from them.

Anyways...let it go, let someone that really wants an S2000 enjoy that vehicle.

The car's been paid off for. And I am getting 3000 back for the difference in cars. And what I do is my business. Why do you get so mad for my decisions.

tough decision huh? I was gonna trade my EP in for 00 S2000 but I took 2 long (24) business hours to think about it they sold it to someone else. DAMN IT. now I have no choice but to spend about $10,000 to come close to the AP in speed( naturally aspirated) and handling. But whateva makes you happy! Go for it! We all crazy in this little stupid world.

If i were you, I would look for an RSX type s if u wanna trade up. Only because with some boltons and tuning your going to be running the s2000 times anyways.

But it will seat more, your keep the 6 speed, and basically the k20a2 is better platform than the k20a3.

The RSX Type-S is a trade up on an S2000?

And i have to say i too think that if you are going to get so defensive on what people say about your "decision" (quoted since you really havent done anything yet) then maybe you should just keep "your business" to yourself? Yeah...
