h22 motor for 96 gsr??
is it pain in the @ss to get h22 into 96gsr? as far as motor mounts go, is it gonna be hassle to get those in.. i'm debating wether to get b18c or h22 swap.. id rather go with h22 if can someone tell me exectly how dificult would it be...

lmao.. cuz i dont know much about engines, so i admit i'm a noob, but i wanted to get something decent with not much to spend on it.. but b18 definately makes sense since ive done some research..and i'm plannning on boosting the engine in 2-3 months.. and will have to ask for opinions about required internals to get engine run strong without thinking if its gonna blow up while spooling on highway..

You have a B18C already, just not a C5. The cost difference for changing over a C1 that is in good running condition to anything else is just too much, it raises the question of are you doing this just to say you did and what practical purpose does it actually have?

You dont know much about engines yet your debating on swapping a GSR motor for an H22. Doesnt it make sense to do some research before you do something as serious as swapping engines?

Ok, if it doesn't make sense let me add a few different punctuation marks and annotate where necessary.

Maybe you should have mentioned that in the first place..
From what I hear, it's better to boost a B18C1 (GSR motor, what you have) than a B18C5 (USDM ITR motor).
What is your ultimate purpose for this car?
(Again from what I hear) the weight distro for the H22 does not lend itself well to auto-Xing, but the extra torque comes in handy for straight-line drag racing.

Why would you debate swapping a GSR motor for a ..... GSR Motor. He was just explaining how your car should already be equipped with a b18c, unless you meant b18c5 or a JDM Type R motor.

Youre way ahead of yourself. You come and ask how hard it is to swap a h22 motor in a GSR. Then you ask well should I swap for a Type R motor (im assuming thats what you meant because why would you swap a GSR for a GSR. JDM or not its virtually the same engine) or an h22. You want an answer? Youre clueless. Thats why I told you to research. Then later on you tell us "Im planning on boosting". For starters why would you get rid of a gsr for a h22 or type r if youre going to boost? My point is learn your engine specs before you ask us how to swap. Dont feel bad because you dont know anything about honda engines. Everyone starts somewhere. But please before you come here asking us to do swaps and telling us how youre boosting LEARN your engines first. Take baby steps. The way youre going youre going to end up blowing a lot of money.
Heres your quick answer. GSR motors are better to boost than Type R or H22 motors. You seem to have your mind set on either a Type R or H22. Even if you werent boosting its a stupid move because the difference in power isnt worth the money youre going to spend on getting a motor. Please I dont even know where to start. Use the search feature and find all your answers.

Theres no question stock for stock a h22 is going to give you best performance. The thing is if you had a healthy GSR would you swap for an h22? Ontop of that would you swap if you were going to turbo like the poster said he was.

Yes, I'll trade a fully built GSR (I had one) for an H22. I wouldn't even think twice about it......boosted or not.

the only thing h22's are really good for is boosting..the heads are too weak to rev them really high unless u want to spend all the money to build it to withstand the high rpms. like mentioned earlier, the h22 will add more weight to the front of the car making it harder to go zoom zoom around corners and turns.
also i do agree drag racing gets kinda boring. any jackass can hold his right foot down for 14 seconds, but it takes skill and physical endurance to go around a track for hours at a time. so in a nutshell, just stick with a c1 or c5

Wow...little stubborn huh?
What exactly keeps the H22 head from reving any higher than a B series head?
Have you ever owned an H22 Hybrid?
I don't even want to comment on your ignorant philosophy about drag racing......obviously a lack of education/experience.

Really do you even know how much? Why do you spread false information. The weight difference is around 30 pounds which will have no affect on the weight of the car. Lighter flywheel and carbon fibre hood and youre lighter than a b series.

Guys with h22 swaps handle just as good as b series guys. With a little suspension work (which youre probably going to end up doing anyways) you'll be handling better than a b series swap. Its the same ****. Dont spread your h22 propaganda because its all myths that have been proven wrong and wrong again. If you did some research instead of listening to your friends you would have known this.
I was never ragging on the h22 swap. To me personally if I had a GSR motor already I wouldnt do it. Ok the poster now says the motor is blown, either way you mentioned how you wanted to boost. Id stick with a GSR to boost than an h22.
