I've had a question which has been bothering me for weeks, since they dont make solid intake piping for my car i was thinking about just taking my old civic piping and having it cut a little so it could fit between the throttle boddy and air mass controller, I realized I would need more space to work with if i wanted to fit the cut piping...

I can reomve the brackets that hold the air mass up but is it safe to relocate it?I would probably be moving it 4 inches from its stock position closer to the fender wall where the car has a apx 5 inch circular opening for the stock box cold air and I would fit the filter into the fender for better flow...
I have however been interested in having a intake manifold fabricated for my car with shorter runners and that way I might have a better advantage using the stock TB in less of an angle for another intake to fit, what type of metal should I use and what do you suggest TIA

what kind of car and motor is that and maybe we can shed a little light on your subject.
i have dealt with some mass air cars before anmely mustangs and we moved that sensor all over the place and it didnt affect ot one bit.
with the open filter element you have on your set up you need to take a few things on consideration:
more flow into the tract is always better, but when trading slightly cooler/less flow, for much better flowing/hotter air, your trade off screws you in the but.
so what i would do is move that filer and mass into a cooler place, or come up with a pipe comfiguration that lets you straighten out theintake tract and put the mass air where you want it, and the filter in a cooler spot.
