s2k cd player ?
wat up peeps i have a simple question for all you s2k owners i just recently bought a s2k cd player and hoping that it will install in to my si coupe is this possible that it will fit like butter or will modification be needed?
also can anyone tell me what the watts are on the cd player i thought they would be higher than a regular si cd player?

If i remember correctly it is 17x4...why on earth did you get the S2000 cd player? That was the first thing to go when we got our S2000...omg the stock radio sucked.
aww god damit does it suck that bad i just wanted something stock not too much power maybe if it was like 35-45 watts thats cool with me because i have all pioneer speakers in the inside so it shouldn't sound that bad well i did get the security code. but no one asnwered if indeed will it fit ?
It's a single DIN size so yes it will fit in a civic no problem...but just to be honest man, if you look at RMS wattage on nearly every headunit on the market, you wont be pushing 35-45watts/channel even on most of the HIGH line radio's. Im guessing your fairly new to the radio deal, the wattage head units have listed are MAX, and you will not be getting that kind of power out of them (with the exception of some radios, including alpine's internal amp headunits, which push 40-45/channel but cost a good bit too)...
Yes, the S2000 radio sucks that bad. We had our S2000 maybe 2 days and we couldnt take it anymore, went to circuit city, grabbed an alpine unit and spent an hour or so putting it in...along with a set of Type-R componants from alpine...very satisfied now.
But **** man, if you just wanted a radio, you could have got a civic CD player much cheaper most likely on ebay, hell, i think i have a 99-00 civic cd DIN in my garage id have sold you for like $30...

its a good player if you dont care about your sound setup, but still need a radio to listen to. But if you wanted to build a nice sound setup, why would you buy a stock honda player?

yeah true i guess thats were i messed up because before i had a nice set up where the back window sounded like it was gonna pop off so i sold it to get my motor parts to go faster no i only care of going fast and dont really need a tight as setup i still have all pioneer inside and dont really care what player is it i guess i thought it would be a good one.
Like I said its a player you'd go with if you werent interested in sound, but also get nervous in a car with no radio. People buy them because a lot of people upgrade their stereo and give away the stock for cheap. Its good if youd rather spend your money else where. A lot of guys with older cars will buy them for the cd player when you would rather spend money on engine work.

If it was out of a 2004-2005 i think it WILL need a harness because those were XM ready radio's and im pretty sure they have a different wiring hook up for XM satellite use (extra wires and what not) but i dont know about the AP1 radio's, they may be the same, guess you'll just have to find out...(go out there and see if you can put the harness in the back of it from your civic, if you cant, you just answered your question).
