Timing belt adjust quick question . . . . .
when they say Turn the crank pulley counter clockwise a few teeth on the cam gears. are you supposed to have the timing belt on the cam gears, or off the cam gears when you turn the teeth?

Right..
The engine runs counter-clockwise so when you turn
it the slack is removed from the belt right before the cam or cams turn..
What is considered "the timing belt tensioner"
is really no more than an idler pulley..
