Default Honda Engine help

Ok, my little commuter 1991 honda civic was in an accident and I need to replace a lot of the front of the car. So, while I'm busy fixing this damn thing up b/c I thought it would be fun, I am going to swap a new motor in for the old 170k mile one. Well, I don't need anything fast or anything but almost every motor I see is JDM, so I was wondering, if I bought a cheap little JDM motor for $300 or whatever, would it be able to pass smog? I know practically any motor will swap but idk if JDM motors would be able to pass. Anyone know?

P.S. Don't tell me that I should swap a B16 and turbo it or anything like that. This is my beater and I just want it to get groceries and save gas. Not to start a flame war but I already have a 2000 Mustang GT and it runs mid 13's so it's good enough for me.

Thanks,
Roy.

Oh yeah, it's a DX with the D15B2 but I'm sure most of you knew that. Oh, and I'm only looking to spend maybe $400 max on the engine. And tranny if I need one to go with the new motor, or can I use my DX one? It needs a new clutch anyway, damn tranny won't hold a gear for the life of it.

Easiest, cheapest swap for it, would be a USDM Si engine (D16A6)... I know youd have to wire from DPFI to MPFI, not sure what else tho... That may be it...

Ok, so how do you wire from Dual point to Multi point? Also, where could I find a D16A6? There's only one on Ebay right now and the guy seems kinda sketchy.

I would keep the same motor I have now but the damn thing leaks oil from the head and the spark plugs are always oil fouled. I don't know what's wrong with it but I don't want to spend money to find out and fix it when I could just be cheap and buy a different motor.

The FAQs thread has a few links on the subject... For any swap youd have to do that anyways...

As for where to get it, you can probably find one locally... Best bet is to find someone whos swapping for another engine...
