Can someone run a VIN for me? please possible stolen R!!!

just browsing HT and saw someone doing a b18c5 swap and the VIN was right there close up on the tranny. just kinda weary of c5 swaps, where did that b18c5 come from?

The engine serial number (right below the engine code) doesn't coincide with the VIN, however there is a VIN plate both on the front of the tranny, and at the bottom front of the engine.

This is not true. If you go to an Acura dealer and ask them to run your VIN they will be able to tell you the blocks serial number.

Yes, both are recorded. They have nothing to do with each other though. For example, the block number is recorded to the VIN, however you can not do a lookup from the block number itself. You know that quote has been thrown around here for years, I never thought people would actually take it seriously and run VIN's on every engine they find outside the R forum
