JDM s20 tranny on a USDM z6?
My automatic tranny on my d16z6 recently went out, so I am planning to do a tranny conversion, there is a local junkyard that has a JDM d series s20 tranny for cheap, I'm wondering if this tranny will bolt on to my USDM d16z6 and work without any problems. Thanks.

bump for a conformation. sorry im sure the answer is here, but theres sublte differences. can you take this S20 LSD tranny and use on ANY 92-00 d series? I wonder if i can put it on my 96 D16Y7 and use the D16Y8 tranny forks as there stronger, being steel.

Yes they are stronger but unless your pushing 300hp you'll never have to worry about breaking a fork. For most applications the aluminum will be just fine and you shouldn't have any problem. You can only shift so fast and if you shift right you shouldn't be able to break anything. But if you can get your hands on one then throw it in.

to answer the first part of question, yes all d-series trannies can be used with all d-series motors from, not sure about the new D17 though.
