Default Body Molding Questions - Difficult to replace?

I'm about to buy some new OEM body molding. You know, the piece that goes in the middle of the door to protect from door dings. How hard is this piece to remove and replace? Any advice is appreciated - thanks!

you do it from inside the door. you have to remove the interior panels and whatnot to get at it.

DONT just pull from the outside

where are you buying the new oem stuff from, how much? (if you dont mine me asking)

Gonna try and get the moldings from http://www.slhondaparts.com - here's hoping they come with clips! How hard is it to get to the clips and stuff from inside the door? I have heard some people have trouble breaking them.

No, the fading isn't the problem - they look like they have "dents" or "creases" in them - each one has at least one or two of them, and it's just the big ones on the doors. If they were faded, I have some trim paint I could use, but there isn't much I can do about the wrinkles or whatever they are...

Has anyone actually taken theirs off and replaced them w/new ones? Give me some insight! Thanks!

I just yanked some off of a parts car tonite. The car was totally stripped, and I didn't do the door part yet, but I did do the part which is below the rear window. I had to use some needlenose pliers to get in the small space for one of the clips (you'll see what I mean when you go to do it. Even though you can barely see it, just clamping on it with the pliers should set it loose from the car. The other 2 clips are very easy to get out). Then you just slide the new ones in.

Are the clips an integral part of the molding, or are they replaceable on their own? Sounds like they should be replaceable.

Thanks for the info - hopefully the door portion is the same!

*steps out from desk at work and walks to car*

yea, the clips are replaceable. They slide right out from a notch in the molding.

Your new mouldings will come with clips. They are easy to remove if you plan on replacing them...just pull them off
