Default Hankook Ventus RS2/R-S2 Z212

Har har, another tread thread. (Search is down, Bbasso, get off my back!)

Check out my next tire:
http://www.hankooktireusa.com/pdf/uploads/Z212.pdf

It appears to be a Azenis competitor.

Best part, it's available in 205/45 R16!

Here's the sizes that might fit an ITR:
195/50R15
205/50R15
205/45R16
215/45R16
225/45R16
...
215/40R17
235/40R17
...

That's it. Pretty new tire, I dunno if anyone has these yet.

Ain't purdy enough for bbasso anyway. No color matching stripes like the scorchers. He's a ricer now rememba?

Hmm...215/45/16...perfect for my JDM 16's. Hard to find other 215/45's, since the RE-010's are ultra-expensive, and the older 215/45 Azenis are almost disco'ed.

Anyone use these yet?

They're getting some hype here:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=845661

and here:
http://www.sccaforums.com/cgi-...4;p=0 (Thread posts from July until this month, read pg. 2 too)

Apparently, "some" people have these in-stock or en route. They're brand spanking new. Discount Tire is listing them, I didn't check availability there myself.

Okay, from my understandings, a 205/45/16 would have better turn-in compared to a 215/45/16 correct? But I am still confused on why Honda offered 215/45's as original equiptment on the JDM 16's.

Would it behoov me to choose a 205/45 or 205/50 for my JDM 16's? Or should I stick with the same size Honda chose for the wheel, a 215/45?

I know I strayed slightly OT, but I'm bored.

Tire diameter, 195/55R15: 23.44 inches
Tire diameter, 205/45R16: 23.26 inches
Tire diameter, 215/45R16: 23.62 inches

OK, so they're all within a couple of tenths of an inch diameter from one another. If the 215's won't rub (they shouldn't unless you're slammed or running a strange offset, which you aren't), I'd run them.

The recommended rim width for the 205/45's is 6.5-7.5". 215/45 is 7-8".

I would personally run the 215's if I were you. More tire is More better.

Thats what I was telling myself. And since I am not going to be using these for anything other than on the street (thats what track shoes are for), a wider tire might suit me better for my few and far between mAdd tiGht st33t laUnChES!

I e-mailed Falken and they said they were not going to offer the 215/45/16 at first but now they are. They said they should be available end of march beginning of april. I'll post the e-mail they responded to me when I get home. Sorry this is off topic but figured I'd offer the info for those looking for a 215/45/16.

Yeah, the Z212 have been long awaited and our booking inventory is due in April.
The 205/50r15 will sell for 111$ Canadian, well below the RT615 price.

I should be driving down to Expo on these babies.

It looks like I can't get the Z211 in my size (225/45R17)... bastards... but I'm definitely getting the Z212 for the street.
