Has anyone tried this?
I'm getting a 200 civic Si air box from a friend who no longer needs his. Anyway, I'm toying with the idea of using the Si airbox to create an icebox. I've seen some pics of people using aftermarket air inlet tubing (off-brand intake from the look of it) with their stock airbox. I'm planning on picking up a KandN intake system for my 90CRXSi but am wondering if the angleing in the CRX engine bay and battery allow me to do this. OR should I re-locate my battery (which I was semi-planning to do at some point) and simply use an Intake for EG, EK, DC in which the air box would take the place of the battery. I guess I'm asking if anyone has ever tried to use an aftermarket with a 99-00 civic si airbox before. Kinda vauge [sic]? but I figured I can't be the only one who thought of this...
been done many times. get air box. buy $15 ebay cold air intake. cut ebay intake to fit from throttle to air box. also from air box to where ever you want to tap the cold air. fit everything. take it apart again. spray paint the new set up black. get pulled over and tell the cop to **** himself cuz he cant find any mods under the hood.
