car pulling to the right
need some advice...I just had an alignment done yesterday because it was out of spec and changed some tires. 2 front goodyear eagle, 1 rear dunlop sp, 1 rear hankook. before u start to ask y for the tire setup let me explain. I had 2 tire slashed and 1 bald spot on a tire. the 1 dunlop i have now is about 1.5 yr old, the rest i bought within the last week. because of recent mild to big snowstorm, pot holes are everywhere in philly streets. Even before the snowstorm I would hit potholes on a regular basis. the potholes i encounter r not deep ones at all just ur usual bump and dump. After having all of the above done, my car is still pulling to the right about 5-10 degrees, enough to swerve to the next lane if i were to take my hands off of the steering wheel. today I noticed a slight creeking sound underneath the passenger side rear door or vicinity of rear wheel well area. It can only be heard from the outside and barely audible. I am thinking something is broken or crack on my suspension. it could either be springs, shocks, axle or whatever's attached. I don't neccessarily blame that on the pothole but it's a 10 year old car and I drive it hard. In 2 weeks after finals, i am taking it in for a thorough inspection to find out exactly what the cause is. Should I go to dealer for this or local mech? What do u guys think is the problem since we can't blame it on alignment and tire issue? btw way my car is a 95 ex v6 with legend caliper swap and brembo blanks...thanx for ur opinion
Go back to the place that aligned it... they are supposed to get that **** right, not leave you with your car pulling to the next lane... they might have messed up.
it was at sears auto. i don't think it is an alignment problem. I think there's more to this, like broken or cracked suspension parts. the car is 10 yrs old and i've driven it hard the past 40,xxx miles. i'll have this fully inspected after finals week in about 2 weeks.
yeah, still sounds like an alignment problem to me. So, I would have them double check. If you are worried about a suspension part being loose or broken, best way to check that is just have someone put it on a rack, and take a look at it. Hard to diagnose from just a little squeak, a lot of cars will do that after so long.
