Default most likely cause of over heating?

ok well its a stock 86 crx si... over heating again.. was headgasket last time and im thinking it could be that again but my thermostat housing is held together with vise grips so ... what do you people think? break it down change head gaskets again? or what .. i also have a friend with a b18 for sale with an auto tranny and motor mounts for 200 bucks but auto tranny how would i go about getting a manual? help please

Are you burning coolant? Is the oil mixing in with the coolant?

For the b18 you will need to source a b series cable type 5spd transmission

The cooling system also must be able to hold pressure..
at least 13 p.s.i.,Otherwise,it will most likely overheat.

[Water under pressure has a much higher boiling point..]

I'm guessing yours may not.

Have you changed the actual thermostat? I would try that then see whats up.

Well, Lol Solved My Over Heating Problem.. Drove It Down The Road And Back Cause Ive Missed It So Much And On The Way Back, 2nd Gears, Neating 6 Grand and Pow.. Slung A Rod Threw The Block It Was Hanging About Half Way Out The 4 inch diameter Hole it Made
