My ball joints are split open and dried out, soo today when I had the car jacked up I sprayed white lithium grease inside... Is this ok? I plan on replacing the ball joints in a month.

 

white lithium is not made for ball joints but if there is no or very little play you should be good for another month, just replace them ASAP ball joints keep your wheel connected. and yeah i guess some grease is better then none.

what do you mean? there is grease inside of them but i sprayed them inside cause they are split open.

 

Now you're gonna have to replace them. Before you might have got away with only replacing the rubber boots?? Upper balljoint usually means you have to buy the upper control arm.

For $5 you could've bought the right grease... But maybe the joints themselves were already damaged (loose?) before you noticed the torn boots.

 

White lithium grease also attracts and holds water. I put it on some wheel bearings years ago (only grease I could find laying around) and they rusted out from the moisture.

 

Can I get an Ingalls Ball Joint Camber kit to replace it i need one anyways?
