Calling All Photo Gurus (Brewerhatch, rodrez, etc)
Hey guys, I was just seeing if you all wanted to give some advice or tips to the h-t users out there that are looking into photography and want to learn how to take somes pics like you guys do! I mean, I'm not looking for responses like "go out and see what works" but i'm also not looking for you to divulge any "secrets". Just a little bit of help so people don't have to ask "how did you get your picture to look like that?" all the time. We could make it a FAQ or something. Go ahead and post some of your pics, and roughly how you achieved the look that you were goin for. Hopefully this thread will help some of us aspiring photographers out! Thanks alot!!
Yeah, I was waiting for one of these. I ordered a Canon A95 couple days ago should be here Wendnesday. I know it's not up to par with one of their cameras, but it's a good start
taking pics is all about trial and error im not some ht class photographer but i know that taking pics is all trail and error cause u can always ask someone how to do this how to do that but its all about how creative u are
some people just have a knack to take nice *** pics of nice *** views

but heres a tip about night photography:USE A TRIPOD
this is a good post though i cant wait to see what advice people give YAY i hope it can help all of us out

Im not a 'guru' but I have taken quite a few shots, & worked with a few professional photographers.
For someone starting out, I would say - use a tripod, experiment with heights/angles, shoot in good light, and if you really want your shots to look like the pro's - buy photoshop, adjust levels, contrast, and use an un-sharp mask.
Other than that, just look at different angles in magazines, get at for an idea what works & what doesnt. Obviously different cars require different angles to make them look their best.
Obviously you'l also need to decide whether you want to shoot if full auto mode, shutter priority, aperture priority, or manual.
At the end of the day, practise makes perfect.

I guess I wasn't really looking for angles, more like settings on the camera and how to use them. I think that would benefit people the most!

Different cameras have different settings,
Since Rodrez etc were in your subject line, im guessing you want to know about digital SLRs?
In other words - you want to know how to use a camera?

don't be afraid to try new things, don't fall into the hype that a more expensive camera is better. practice, practice, and more practice. get familier with a photo-editing program aswell.

i'm a firm believe in "it's the eye behind the camera". look at Rodez, that man get's funky with it.
