Replace Timing Belt/Master Clutch Cylinder Leaking?
I posted about this a couple days ago, and need to get this work done.
This is a 1999 integra GSR with 71.5k miles on it. Does the timing belt need to be changed now?
If so, I don't want to pay $650 for the timing belt package (includes water pump, belts, etc). What else should be replaced along with the timing belt?
What is the cheapest way to do it? Where is the best place to get the parts? Are there any perfornace parts I could use since I'm replacing it anyways?
I was thinking about posting on craiglist (in DC) to find someone that can do the work for me, good idea?
They also said the master clutch cylinder needs to be replaced? Where is cheapest place to buy the parts, and get the best install? Should I go to jiffylube type of stores?
ALso, how could I confirm the DEALER isn't bullshiting me about the timing belt and that the master cltuch cylinder is actually leaking?

honda reccomends changing the timing belt @70k miles they do charge alot to do it though , your best bet would to buy the parts @acura and get a reputable shop to do it cheaper for you if your not to mechanically inclined. the clutch m/c is like 80$ from acura and thats not to hard to change . check out http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/ they have all the parts you need , or you could go to acura and they will get you everything you need to take it to someone else to do it all in all it's about 300 you are out in parts. and dont go the cheap route allways get oem parts
Prostreetonline says the timing belt need to be changed at 60-105k. The car is driven in Washington, DC area (lots of traffic, stop and go). I'm thinking about waiting til 80-85k til I change the timing belt.
I just don't want to spend moeny I don't need to spend. When did the people on this forum get their timing belts changed?
