how would i go about installing a quaife or OBX lsd that was made for an EX into my DX (d16y7)????


which bearings do i have to change 35mm vs 40mm???
and does it have something to do with the final drive?

quaffe says if you dont already know how do to it don't try. Have a pro install it. At least thats what they told me when i called

Because sometimes the nature of the question reveals that that the asker is so ignorant that it would take far too long to explain the answer to him. Most of the labor charge is pulling and replacing the tranny, so do that part yourself and take the tranny to a professional for the LSD install, then it will only cost about $75, which is what it cost me when I did it.

 

what i want to do is buy an obx lsd for a SOHC with 40 mm bearings and toss it into my tranny with the 35mm bearings.

OBX DOES NOT MAKE a 35mm LSD for SOHCS.


this is my problem...because i have a y7 not a y8..

if i had a y8 i would just buy the OBX and leave you people alone,
but since i have a y7 my options are limited to a quaife LSD ($$$) for TRU plug and play.


i was reading earleri that the only difference between the y7 and the y8 trannys are the final drive gears.... and if i swap those over will i be able to fit the OBX lsd...

 

i cant afford a quaife.
