Default 1990 civic mini me swap what ecu should i use?

well ive got a 1990 honda civic dx with a d16y7 bottom end with a d16z6 head and no wiring harness cuz the old one was butchered. So i figured find a Si wiring harness for a 90 civic so its plug and play right? then im not sure what ecu i should use i want something plug and play someone said that i should get a pg7. also im going to get a greddy emanage piggy back system to run the vtec and air/fuel. let me know what i should get for a ecu that would be plug and play thanks!

an si harness is not plug and play because of the resistor box
you need to convert a dx harness to fuel injection and add vtec wires
as for ecu if you want to stay obd0 you could use a pw0 or pr3 from a b16
but it would be better to convert to obd1 and get a chipped p28

I agree,,

Convert to obd1 and run a p28..Car will run alot better

As far as the wire harness you can make the si work..Its not plug and play but you can make it work

so theres no way if i get a full si wiring harness including the resistor box it wont plug into the dx harness at the firewall? im not worried about the vtec the piggy back will take care of that

Heya!
No a Si harness will not plug and play with a DX chassis. You do not want an Si harness.
What you do want is a MPFI converted DX harness. Which is what Rywire.com can provide.

You could still be OBd-0 and use a b16 ECU (PR3/Pw0)

Chip it and disabled Knock sensor
and burn a p28 mapping

DX harness either way, DPFI-MPFI conversion either way, Stay OBD0 and use a PM6 with some thing to activate the VTEC (vfac is one way), or you can:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Garrett &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> use a b16 ECU (PR3/Pw0) Chip it and disabled Knock sensor
and burn a p28 mapping</TD></TR></TABLE>

Personally I still favor:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Mr.speaker &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Convert to obd1 and run a p28..</TD></TR></TABLE>

And let the VTEC be controled the way Honda intended....

WIRE IT UP FOR MULTI POINT INJECTION AND USE A PR3 OR PWO ECU
EASIEST AND FASTED WAY RUNS AWESOME.

USED THIS SETUP FOR COUSINS CAR SOHC VTEC 1.6, B16A ECU PR3 DX WIRED TO MULTI POINT.

Then run the OBD1 P28 ecu for proper vtec, fuel and timing maps.

OK, in case you missed it the first time:

You can make chips for a lot of different ECU, if you have the right software and hardware. You need to do your homework on this subject starting with the "search" feature here. All you questions have been answered here many times before (how do you think I learned.... I lurked a lot and read even more!)

Also try: http://www.pgmfi.org/ For more info on chipping ECUs.
