Default Some advice for my new car...

Hey everyone, yesterday I bought a 99 Civic from my friend. It has a few quirks here and there, but here's my setup:

-B18b1 Block and Crank
-GSR Rods
-ITR Pistons
-OBD2 B16 Head
-ITR Valvetrain and Cams
-ITR Tranny w/LSD
-I/H/E
-Stock 00 Civic Si ECU

I know that I'm not making full power like tihs and that I should run a chipped p28 or better. My goal is to have a streetable car thats not running race gas. I don't want to spin past 8500 because I don't want to forge my bottom end either. So should I go Hondata? Chipped p28? Just keep this stock ECU? I want to make about 210 whp...is this possible with my setup and then some tuning, or do I need a more aggressive setup?

first and fore most, you need to do lots of research to get at least a general understanding of honda motors, and im not saying that to be rude.

you cant have an ls crank with gsr rods, so i dont know what you really have.

next, no, you cant hit 210whp with what you have.

yes, go with hondata.

forged pistons have absolutely NOTHING to do with 'spinning' past 8500 RPM's.

i think that answers most of your questions. but if you have a good understanding of honda motors, then you will be able to answer most of your own questions like these. then you can go to the 'gurus' for the real intense stuff. read as much as you can!

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it alot. The setup I posted was based on what the person told me he did to the motor. Now it's got me wondering what I really have too. I thought that the bottom end would have to be replaced if I wanted to rev really high, sorry about that assumption. Thanks again for helping out.

Dam, thats why id rather buy a car with a fully stock motor. I hope he is really your friend and didnt rip you off. Oh well...what is the tranny code? You might not have an ITR tranny if he lied to you about the rods and you cant even see them without opening the block. Might just have a LSvtec with a LS tranny or maybe a b16 tranny, hopefully.
