Default Question about hytech/an-r/prospeed/smsp-type headers

Hey guys

Well, as far as i know, these types of headers start off as a two piece, but in order to connect them, you must weld the two pieces together. This is all well and great, but you see, i live in the great smog-**** state of california, and if i want to pass smog safely, i have to use smog-legal equipment-aka stock header.

Here stems the problem...

In order to remove one of these headers, i will have to cut the welds; i dont want to have to keep welding and re-welding everytime i have to smog. So i had an idea.

Before installation, do you think it would be feasible to have flanges welded to ends of both peices, thereby eliminating repeated welding, and only the turn of a wrench would be needed to remove the header. Could this work you guys?

Im hell bent on getting a header, and im not settling for a DC, i want one of these fantastic headers to work. Thanks for your help.

Why are you reposting this? You DON'T NEED TO WELD THEM. It would be idiotic if you have to weld them in place while installed and near impossible to do it well.

As stated in your previous post all you need to do is install it. Or at most remove the subframe. If you have issues with that, don't buy one of these.
