Default aftermarket gauges

i see it often but not everywhere. how do you get gauges where the cruise control and the dash light controls are? i dont wanna bust anything trying to get this stuff out. and i always see the cars that have done it so clean and almost looks like gauges were supposed to go there.

1. what size gauges do you use?
2. what do you do to get the old parts out?
3. how do i get it to look so damn clean?

I know you'll hear ppl say search, but you should I know there are threads because I've seen them. I'm pretty sure they are standard sizes from autometer. you have to take out either or both the dimmer and cruise switch and then enlarge the hole (which I recall means you can't put those items back in later on down the road.) I debated a long time if I wanted to do that... I think its fashion over function and decided against it because its actually a bad place to have gauges because you have to look down and take your eyes off the road, and the steering wheel kinda blocks them too. But it doesn look clean as hell! I finally decided on getting a gauge bezel.

mostlikely will place a voltmeter and oil pressure down there since
you dont need to constantly monitor them so it will be glanzed once in a while.
more like a diagnostic tool.

gauge bezel looks kool but its an easy target for cops and thieves

I ended up with a gauge bezel like this

I would say its not too noticeable, not like pillar gauges.
