2005 Accord ?'s Camber kit needed w/ drop?
My girlfriend just bought a new 05 accord LX w/ the V6 5-spoke wheels and I almost have her convinced into getting it lowered...
Im pretty sure the 03- current accords have the McPhearson strut type front suspension(like new civics) and dont require camber kits due to their suspension geometry...
Can anyone confirm this? Shes a little upset that a good set of springs will run her about $200 and if she has to get a camber kit, then I know lowering it will be out of the question. Im a tech. so labor is not an issue...
Im also looking at the Tanabe NF or some H+R springs, input on these?
Thanks for any suggestions/advice

I believe you are incorrect. I think Accords are still using double wishbone in the front, and some variation of multi-link in the back.
I also could be wrong, but yeah, I think you still are going to have to worry about camber issues.

Hmmm...Guess Ill just have to remove the wheel to get a good look...
I was really hoping the new gen. of accords had the McPhearson struts, but oh well...
Guess Ill just search for 03+ camber kits and see what pops up.
Thanks for the input Lordaccord
Anyone else?

It would be ideal to get a camber kit bc there is noticeable camber in the rear...i have s tech springs but not ready to shell out 150 for a camber kit yet...i just rotate tires every oil change. also the accord is a double wishbone and multi link suspension not Mchpherson struts
Thanks idragen, I know the civic and teg people use the old washer trick for the rear(including myself)...
And after searching, ive found some accord owners have done this too to the older models....
Do you guys know if the rear suspension changed w/ the current generation? Or can I use the washer trick for the 03+ accords as well?
TIA.......

rear washer trick wont work, my friend and i examined it before....seems like the only way to correct camber on 7th gens is the expensive(camber kit) way....
Dammit!!
I guess ill have to wait to drop the good news on her until after she gets her tax return
Maybe I can talk her into a CAI until then! Well see what happens!
Thanks for the replies!!

I have an 03 Coupe. It is dropped about 1.6, and 1.8 and in the front their is very minimal camber so no kit needed, but in the rear, is where you are going to need the kit. In all honesty, I have had this for almost a year now, and I have not gotten the camber kit. I haven't noticed any weird wear in the tires.
