i am putting the 10mm bolt back on my tie rod and when i get it to a certain point it caused the tie rod end to spin with the bolt. is there any way i can stop the spin so i can get the nut on?
That's your tip for changing them. Good ball-joints aren't supposed to turn in their housing. If your cheap and think you can still pull a few miles off them then an impact usually gets the nut in there.
Your talking about the end that attaches to the steering knuckle right? If so just get some force on it. Get a clamp and try to tighten it down and that should stop it from spinning. You can also use this method on upper and lower ball joints.
