I have 3 questions here. One is i have a j1 tranny, and want to know what is the best clutch to go wiht; meaning what year ls should i get one for. Is the flywheel for any b16a able to fit the 1st gen. And last are there any speacial intructions to follow when installing a clutch and flywheel. Any help is help

I would get a ACT clutch there good for the money usually about 300-350. Im pretty sure a flywheel for a b16 will fit a b16 also theres no special instructions to installing a clutch.

 

get a clutch setup for 90-91 teg. Any b series flywheel should work fine.

 

That's *almost* true. You put less stress on the friction disk during install if you tighten down the pressure plate bolts evenly, making sure the alignment tool slides in and out smoothly the entire time, never binding. Once all the bolts are touching with the pressure plate firmly against the flywheel, then you can continue with final torque. The friction disk will be in perfect alignment, making tranny installation super smooth, and the friction disk be less likely to have suffered any un-due/un-even stress which could cause premature disk failure.
