I'd like to start off by saying that my rims are not expensive at all compared to other rims that people might be rockin on this site...but just the fact that it happened sucks...so anyways...I'm driving home along the 805S around 12:30am...I'm exiting telegraph canyon rd. I'm kinda sleepy so my eyes are playing open/close with me. My eyes happen to be closed for a second and BAM!!! My car starts pulling to the right...so I continue to exit knowing that I probably blew the tire...not that big of a deal except that it's pissin rain. I get out...take a look...and this is what I see..



So I throw on the spare and drive home...nothing big really..I just needed to vent. I called Caltrans as soon as I got home....if anybody needs their number here it is (858)616-6520...thanks for reading

 

i hate potholes..thats why i dont drive my car in the rain. b/c u cant see the potholes most of the time

I remember someone on this board along time ago who was paid of by the city for their bent rim. They basically called and complained about the pot hole and what not. Its a bit vague to me, but I just remember the basic idea. maybe that could do some justice for ya

Yeah MM Blvd has some new potholes thanks to tonights rain. Watch out for the middle lane going west across the post office and the right lane going east after the Camino Ruiz intersection. I think I bent my steelies.

I think your best bet is to take a dated picture of the actual pothole and the damage. Send it to Cal Trans and wait 405928745 months for your check to arrive.

I was just looking at that on the way home from work. There's about 3-4 huge rectangle potholes in a row right there.

good ol' san diego potholes ... i go to pomona for the weekend, and come back to more than when i left.

UPDATE: Well I was still pretty pissed about what had happened when I got home so I went back to the spot and there were no potholes there?!?! I do remember a couple of cars pulled over right where I hit whatever it was...I think something may have fell out off or off one of those cars which is why they were on the side...I dunnoe...I'm getting over it..hah...but potholes are a HUGE problem nonetheless...I dont know why Caltrans or the city can't just fix the damn things properly the first time around instead of having to go back and do it everytime the rain washes away the fill job.

sorry to hear bout the rim...

 

40$ fix at romero's. they fixed gf's rim for 95 but it had a 10" crack along the circle as well plus a 2.5" bend inwards.

MM is getting rough. i need to check my rims tomorrow too for bends.

Sucks....I try to drive on roads where I know where the bumps are, in my years of driving I have yet to even pop a tire on a pothole *shrug*

I was told 1 day by a *wise* guy that..... thats the cost of rollin big.... N-e way I have bought a total of 6 new tires since ive had my rims due to potholes..
