Default crx gtech time really slow?

r gtechs accurate, becasue i have a 91crxhf with a b16 with ctr cams skunk2 im, ported throttlbody 4-1 header with 2.5 inch collector and a 2.5 inch catback, lightened flywheel, no ac, konig 15 inch heliums with bfg drag radials, and it is saying i am running a 15.3, i dont see how that is possible, i know i can improve on my launches but i was expecting like a 14.3 i wonder if my motor is just a piece of crap or if it is all just my launches

You need to imput the correct weight for your car. Most people say the car is lighter than it really is and they run real fast times. Maybe you are telling it that your car weighs more than it really does. Most of the time G-techs are very close to what you will really run.

I'm just curious, but why on earth would you need to tell it how much your car weighs??? It just measures acceleration force, right? And that shouldn't change whether it's a 2000lb car or a 4000lb car. Did I miss something here?

confused

The secret is to measure your times going downhill, not uphill.

if you get tons of wheel hop your times are screwed. Make sure you have it setup correctly on your window

confused </TD></TR></TABLE>

It's a mathemtical equation that tries to take weight, wind resistance, etc into consideration....

I do belive that it only uses weight for it HP calculations. As for measurings your 1/4mi times all. it would need is acceleration force and time.

15.3 isnt bad for the street, you have to remember that the street isnt covered in VHT and the asphalt doesn't have rubber ebeded in every lil crack from a few thousand burnouts like a track. I can launch my car @ 5.5-6k on a track with lil to no wheel spin while on the street I can only launch at 2.5-3k on the street.

Also, g-tech's are very sensitive to how level the road is and bad wheel hop.

you have to make sure that ur running your car on a perfectly level road- I ran my car with stock motor on a flat road, and got like a 16.3, but when i ran it up hill, i ran like a 15.9. so, the angle of the terrain matters a great deal.

well if you are dead correct on your weight, and all that they are pretty darn accurate.

example) recently dyno'ed a e26m3 on a near new dynoyet, then about i dunno a month later or so we used a gtech pro to dyno it, same mods....... 5hp difference

that's pretty darn good if you ask me, just gotta get the weight right.

Just to make it perfectly clear, the vehicle weight that you enter into the unit will only effect the hp calculation, it will NOT effect the ET.

I've had a Gtech for like 3 weeks now, but I haven't used it yet. I'll try it out today I guess. I got it from ebay forlike $35 or $40 shipped, brand new. It's the original model though, not the new pretty one.
