What My Integra Now Weighs...
Just an FYI, for those (like Rice) who thought you couldn't get one under 2500lbs...
2408 without driver and 1/4 tank of gas. That's with a pretty serious cage as well.
No air bags, sunroof, seats except for the kirkey, sound deadening, air conditioning, radio, etc., etc.
I'm thinking you could get one down to about 2350, which is minimum weight in Grand Am Cup, by doing a bunch of smaller stuff that I've been too lazy to do.
With driver... unfortunately 2628 as I weigh a svelt 220.
Why the SCCA has this car listed at 2690 is beyond me. Seriously, I weigh 220 and I'd STILL have to add 60lbs of lead to be legal. Unreal.
My theory is still "Scared of Honda Dominance in IT."

Hell, at 270 I couldn't make you legal!
I would like to get down in that range as well with my R. Dash, A/C misc. crap all coming out this season.

The IT masterminds are definitely against Hondas. I think seeing one dominate in ITS is the last thing they want. What's more ridiculous is what they did to the ITB Accord. They're kicking it out of ITB because of its "potential". OPM has one that's build as good as it can be, while Randy Pobst raced another OPM accord at the ARRC and still didn't win. How can the Accord have any more potential? Anyway, it's good you can run a more "normal" weight on your GSR. Your car's looking good!!

hey, at least now, you can put your weight down low, for the lower center of gravity, and at the corners you want, for better eight balancing.

I weighed my Integra at Roebling, and it came in at 2570, with the back seat, 3/4ths tank of fuel, and a full interior. No spare, etc, and no cage, though...
Gut the thing, put a cage in it, and I can see meeting min. weight being a problem, yes.

My friends GSR weighed in at 23xx w/ the stock front seats in it and sun roof still in it. He took all of the interior out, except for the dash and door panels. It has no AC, no air bags, no sound deadening in it. He doesn't have a cage yet though, not sure how much weight that would add, what does a 'normal' cage weigh?
I don't think there's such a thing as an electronic version. Plus, they're like 20 bucks, so even if there was such a thing I doubt you'd have any takers on mailing it off for free.

2439 for my RS with basically no gas, full interior including A/C, no jack, no spare, and 20lb wheels, before the bar went in. Nice to know it would've been STS legal at ~2360lbs with light wheels and no A/C.
The SCCA rule book also contains a CD rom with a PDF version on it.
96 GSR SSB. Cage, fire bottle, no A/C, driver race seat ( Kirkey), passenger stock seat (cloth), straight pipe from cat. back, with a 1/2 tank of gas ( on gauge ) weighes in at 2570 without the driver ( SS class rule ). The min. is 2545. So I have a 25lb. "cushion". One of these days I'll forget to load up on fuel before a race and end up Dq'ed.

Shawn,
Are you serious? I heard that you cut off everything that could be - like door window frames, etc. Tells us what you cut off, or what you left - whichever list is shorter. When I first heard your numbers I tried to imagine what it took to get there - I'm still baffled.
Bumber re-bars?
Dash?
door windows & regulators?
Heater & Blower?
Exhaust from the header back?
ABS?
And that adds up to 4-500 lbs?
Did you build this as a TCRA monster, or did you have SCCA IT or PRO, or Grand Am, or NASA rules in mind as you did what you did? Give us some more details.
Scott, who doesn't like weight......get off of my car....."Doug Hayashi?..yes, sorry, Reverend Doctor....you sure you can't excorcise some of these pounds away?.....well I think we should try anyway, it couldn't hurt.....and could you do something about my tire wear too?....huh, so then what kind of Reverend are you anyway?......Hummmpphhhh"......

For SOLO II E-Prepared '90 GS I'm shooting for empty weight of 2,100-2,200 lbs. Should easily get there though it will definately need lexan windshield and rear window to do so. I could imagine getting an integra down to 2,000 lbs, would just take a alot of work and planning. 1,800 lbs would be even better for E-prepared as that's the minimum weight allowed....don't see how you could do that in prepared class. I'll just have to see how light I can get it...will be interesting. I know one thing, I better start by replacing the OEM cast iron master cylinder with my original aluminum Honda master cylinder, if I can find it....

i didnt do anything crazy and my raod race integra weighs 2000 lbs with a 1/4 tank of petro plus or minus.
hahahahahaah

Again, my car is stripped to IT and ECHC limits with the exception of the drivers side door not being gutted, and I'm 400 lbs above this number.
Forgive me if I doubt you, but I doubt you. 400lbs is alot
Does this car have a cage in it?
With no "crazy" weight reduction, I weight in at about 2300lbs with a half tank of petrol. 2500lbs with my tall lanky-*** at the wheel.
I removed the following.
- All interior pieces (kept the dash)
- removed the blower motor and assembly under the dash doesn't rain much here in So Cal
- E-brake
- driver and passenger windows w/ motors and wiring
- A/C system
- Power Steering system.
Thats about it.

Removing the e-brake is the "tiiite" thing to do. I just like removing "clutter" from the cab of the car, and I never use the e-brake. Also, with Hawk Blues on the rear the car would still roll even on the slightest incline when the pads were cold with the e-brake engaged.

My top ten reasons to remove the E-brake.
10. It's tiiite.
9. you can use the holes to mount your HotLap timer display (as I did)
8. less weight (hey, 3 pounds make a difference in the corners.. and stuff)
7. Eleminates the ability to *accidentally* cook the rear pads and warp the rotor after a race or practice session by pulling the e-brake.
6. Allows the "chi" to flow more freely in the cabin of the car.
5. Eleminates the urge to perform "e-bake slides" or any related forms of jackassery.
4. blah
3. blah
2. stuff
1. no good reason
