Default Possibly buying a s2k....prices, pros, cons, etc.

I am changing jobs, and along with the increase in pay, comes the increasing urge to buy one. I would like to know what are the pro's and con's of the different years and what I should look for when buying one. I want to stay around $22k or less. What can I expect to get for that price? (mileage, options, etc.)Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if you did a search you would find all your answers... but as for only 22k.... you're probably looking for an ap1.. which is the older 2.0L with 9k redline..

the ap2 has a 2.2 with 8200 redline...

I have an 02` I bought new, has a little over 11k and is worth around 22, I guess. Its in mint condition, gararged, weekend or nice weather car only. So I guess thats what you can expect to find for your $. Its been alot of fun, the only thing I just replaced was the battery.

You need to go sit in one to see for yourself. I thought the car was perfect for me, 5-9, but Ive seen some people 6-2 drive it comfortably.

I don't have one myself but I know that starting in 2002 the rear window was glass with a defroster where in previous years the rear window was made of plastic and not as hardy as glass is.

I'm 6'1" 170.. I fit comfortably but long road trips can be a little uncomfortable after a while..

I bought my 01' with 28k on it and paid $22,000 for it. It's in almost mint condition though and i don't regret it one bit. So, yeah... the rear window is one of the biggest differences and then there are subtle front and rear bumper differences, then it's down to your preference of headlights/taillights as the AP2s are a slightly different styling..

but yeah, go with a silverstone AP1... doesn't get much better than that.

bro do a search. My god there was just a topic yesterday that talks about someone wanting to buy an s2k and it discussed things you should consider while buying an s2k. As a matter of fact its a couple threads down.

Sorry, I didn't see any topics that looked like they would help me out. (I admit, I didn't look to hard though.)

Anyway, I went out and looked at a couple yesterday. They only had '05's on the lot at my local Honda dealer. I noticed that the two sitting on the lot had power roofs. Do all model years have this option?

Also,
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Newkleus &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I don't have one myself but I know that starting in 2002 the rear window was glass with a defroster where in previous years the rear window was made of plastic and not as hardy as glass is.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Anyone have a problem with the rear plastic windows, as far as hazing or becoming cloudy? I have seen a few convertibles in the past where the plastic rear window looks like ****. Thanks, AGAIN.

Actually, I have been on this board for almost two years. (I don't know why my date is '04, I joined in '03)

Thanks for the search link. If you don't have anything useful you can tell me, don't post. It is that simple. Thank you to everyone that has helped me out.

^^^ You'll have to understand some of the frustration, there's usually about 10 of these kind of threads every damn week. "What should i get" "Is the S2000 worth it" "Do you guys like your S2000's" "How much should i spend on this S2000"...i mean after a while, you could just come in here, not read the post title and just put the same generic "I love mine, its small but its a great car" reply and probobly hit on topic about 8 times out of 10...so yeah, just keep search in mind in the future.

As far as size...im in that higher bracket of 6'3+ people that find the car WAY too small for daily driving, but a blast to drive on the weekends and warm evenings (my wife drives ours daily, but she's a cuban and she's short so it fits her fine. lol)

As far as your question about power roofs? I assume you mean the rag top is power and not manual? If so then yes, they all come with this...and the plastic window WILL cloud up, i dont think theres any way to prevent this, and replacements means a whole new top, so id deffinately say if you can, look for a 2002+...preferably a 2004+ but im a bit biased.
