Default San Diego H-T'ers: Stolen EF hatch Alert.

So, somebody decided to trade me cars last night.

I go out to the ole hatch to do that daily commute thing.. and notice a strange first-gen CRX sitting directly across from my hatch.
"Hm. Never seen that one here before."
That's when I notice that my hatch isn't there. Dude... where's my car? Do the stupid look up the block, look down the block, as if I'd see my car parked somewhere else, or catch the bandit making off with the goods or something. She's nowhere to be found.

So I go inspect my "new" 1g CRX, because I've never seen it around before, and I'm not saying I live in a nice neighborhood, but this thing is waaaay too busted to belong to any of my neighbors. So, these clues tell me that this is the thief's abandoned car:
1- Broken passenger side rear window.
2- Keys in the ignition.
3- Strike that.. TOYOTA key SHOVED into the ignition, along with a Mitsubishi key, Mazda key, Hyundai key, etc..
4- Broken ignition bezel.
5- Expired registration, expired temp tags.
6- Pink slip on the floor.
Interesting.

So, I turn around and drive the Datsun to work.

So I'm going to call the La Mesa police, as that's where this silver nugget (CRX) is from. Maybe it's somebody's missing baby, or at least somebody's missing commuter car.

If anybody sees my white '90 hatch with blue interior, orange tinted front signals and Corrado G60 BBS wheels with nearly new shitty all-seasons(newest junkyard score.. installed on tuesday), please let me know. Other distinguishing marks are: cracked windshield (across the bottom, almost the whole width), Si cluster.
**** thieves.

Don't have any pics.
It's just a really clean bone stock hatch, aside from previously mentioned quirks/wheels/tinted signals.

Thanks for keeping an eye out.

They found it! In Mexico.
Only things missing are head unit (I still have the faceplate), and the battery. No word on condition, that's the only info I have. If it's in decent condition, I'm taking it back for daily driver status, and installing a snap-off wheel and 2 hidden kill switches.

Here's to hoping my CDs are still in there (obscure stuff that nobody likes, only 3 real CDs), and my BBSs.
We'll see "in 5-10 days".

Seriously.

And the CRX was most likely stolen. When I filled out the police report (after work), the cop had the car towed. I looked inside again and there were two broken clubs. Lame.

Sorry to hear, man - keep us updated on the condition that it's found in when you go get it. You may want to snap some pics of it (not to necessarily post online, but good to have handy for posts like this) but possibly for insurance purposes later on down the road. Just a thought!

Kinda OT but I was thinking.....wouldn't it be a good idea if you had a really worked car to get Lojack? That way if the car does get stolen you can find out where it is and it can be retrieved quickly before its stripped and stuff.

(not talking about your car, just in general)
