Default What hydro tranny is = to cable YS1 LSD

Since the cable YS1 is so hard to find i was thinking about converting over to a hydro tranny if there is one that is about the same and just easier to find. What do you guys think?

I don't think they're that rare -- any 92-93 Integra 5spd will have a YS1 transmission. Internally, they're identical to the hydro transmission. Gear ratios vary between GSR and LS models, just like the hydro boxes do between the different models.

I'm assuming what he meant was just the shorter geared 92-93 GSR version of the YS1 vs all of them. In which case those have been pretty rare/scarce.

I was under the impression that they were very similar/identical to the ITR gearing. Which is why people who where swapping B18C5/SpecR motors into chassis' that originally came with cable transmissions (before the cable-to-hydro kits came out) desired them so much. The side benefit to doing this would be in gaining the factory Torsen LSD too.

Yeah i was talking about the LSD YS1. its seems like the Kaaz and Quaiffe LSD are more of a hassle to buy one & then install it rather than just by a LSD tranny.
