OMG!!! Are aftermarket windshields this fragile :(
Hello,
I had my windshield replaced about 6 months ago. And in that time I probably haven't even put 3000 miles on my car. Due to it not being my daily driver. In that time it has developed 2 cracks. At first I thought it was just a manufacture's defect and I could get it replaced not problem. But after looking closer at the cracks it looks like it originated from small rock chips. Which most glass places won't replace for free. I'm looking for the reciept as we speak cause this is just messed up.
I don't know but does this seem normal to you?

yeah i don't think it's supposed to do that. but maybe you've just had a few strangely unfortunate run-ins with rogue flying stones.
you should have that taken care of ASAP. it might be dangerous.

Definitely not normal. Take it to the place that installed it and demand they replace it. That windshield might have been flawed from the get go, and just the stress of it fitting tightly in place may have caused that hairline crack.
Aftermarket windshields are not created equal. I had one put in my Honda when I bought it used. Biggest POS windshield ever!! Small chips occur very very easily and crack.
you got a super cheap windshield. always ask who's product they will install when you get glass. PPG is very high quality, oem uses ppg. there is another one that's better than ppg (i have that on my car now) but i can't remember the name. the better the glass the more it cost. my ppg one was ~$300.
