88 prelude si performance?
a friend of mine has a 88 prelude, it has a DOHC somethign in it but i don't know what it is. anybody know what engine it has and what would be a good way to add some power to the engine? i think he said b20?? but i'm not sure. he was thinking of new cams but he can't find any place that sells them for his car. i told him to turbo that biatch and call it good.
thanks
any help will be appriciated

okay it's the B20A5, thanks FAQ
.
now since that is a B would the same rule "b series parts can be swapped" be true or is that just for the b16 and b18's? i was just thinking about some itr or ctr cams.

Well you can use B18A/B cams in the lude, but they might have to be modified just a bit, they go in though....
A huge increase in power is from the use of a header.....The stock manifold is below-average, but the real bottleneck in the system is the downpipe (2 pipes) which has a pipe-within-a-pipe design, and the internal diameter of the inner pipe in the downpipe is only 1.35" which is SMALLLLL......Average gain from adding a DC header is around 12hp *to the wheels* and comparable torque.
You can use any B-series pistons that has an 81mm bore such as from a B16a, b18a/b/c, or a B17...
You can also use any B-series cam gears, stock or adjustable...
If you want to install forged connecting rods you can use rods made for an H23a or F22a since they are exactly the same. They do make rods for B20a5's too, but most companies just list them as "h23a rods"
People have even used H22a rods but they needed to be modified....
There is a moderator on PreludePower.com, his name is ToofastSiPrelude and he is a machinist and he took the intake manifold, and throttle body and bored the TB out to 60mm and bored the intake manifold out and he got 18whp and even more torque just from that, and his motor is esentially stock.
