I need to add a/c!!!!
First of all I know most you guys are probably more into taking out the a/c rather than adding one, but I have my reasons. I have a 90' GS that has every damn option except a/c. Why Acura would make a fully loaded car without air conditioning is beyond me but they did. Well I'm about to pull my motor pretty soon and swap in a lower mileage JDM B18B engine and I figure if a/c is something I want to add it would probably be alot easier to do it while the engine is out.
What exactly do I need?? I already have the whole temp. guage control with a a/c buttton on it but thats it. Could someone give me a general parts list of what I'm going to need. Also, what parts should I get off a used G2 and what parts should I buy brand new?? I dont wanna go through the trouble of instaling a a/c in my car only to have something go wrong in six months. I really need to do this because I'm about to move to AZ and you cannot go without a/c in the desert. Thanks guys,
Mike

what i would....just my opininon....would be to buy all new components. Search in the sponser marketplace for "Len" he sells parts from Acura for a discount. They have a complete system for right round ~600 or so if i remember correctly cuz i was going to do this as well. Now this MIGHT seem pricey for you, you could buy used components but it could be expensive if you do that way as well.
put it this way....i choose to go with the "used" route. by the time i had found a compressor that actually worked, an evaporator that didn't leak, and having to go get the system recharged everytime i would of been better off buying a brand new system.
edit....here are some of the main components you will need...if i miss something i apologize:
-compresssor
-compressor bracket/mount
-idler puller
-belt
-all a/c lines(high/low)
-condensor
-evaporator
-expansion valve(if its not included w/ the evaporator you buy)
-drier/accumulator(can't remember if this is the same thing just two different words or what)
-all new o-rings
-a/c fan
-possibly relays. u said u had a gs, i thought the rs was the only one that came w/out a/c??i dunno. anyways, not sure how the wiring is on ur car, so you'll have to look into that as well.
here is a good pic and pretty good price from this site too

You could try buying an integra that had a working a/c. That way you could have a quick car and a daily driver car and know exactly how much it will cost to do.

it won't work unless some modification is done......the inlet ports on the compressor are different between the r12 and the r134 compressors. the inlet ports on the 134 compressor are just different.....it will bolt up, but it will leak, it you compare the two you see what im talking about, its kinda hard for me to explain.

I dont think 600 for all new a/c parts sounds too bad. That way Id have a all brand new a/c system and shouldnt have any problems for a while.
90' Integra's where kinda wack with there options. I'm pretty sure 92-93 GS came with standard a/c and the 91's might of too but I know mine didnt.
