Default sunroof motor removal

im trying to get rid of unwanted dead weight in my 88 crx. most of the interior is gutted out but theres still more that could be taken out. is there a way to remove the sunroof motor and cables but have the sunroof still functional. like is there a way to manually move the sunroof front and back

I've always considered completely removing thes sunroof and using a tinted lexan plug. Then have some kind of latchs to keep it locked and closed from inside, but make it removable, kind of like a car with T tops. Just makes it too easy for people to steal your stuff though. - Darrell
