tokicos from a 91 integra work on a 97 civic?
will tokicos from a 91 2dr integra ls work on a 97 civic? i searched, came up with a couple things but didnt answer my question.....thanks
I already posted this in the other thread:
You would need to use front drop forks from a 90-93 Integra or 88-91 Civic to make the fronts work (they are slightly smaller in diameter than the 92-00 Civic front shocks). The rear forks that are attached to the shock are going to be a little bit wider than the 97 shock forks - so you would want to take precautions to make sure the rear LCA, LCA bushing, and shock fork are firmly mounted - maybe put a new thicker bushing, or some sort of shim to anchor it better (or even swap in DA/EG/DC LCAs).
The most important difference is that the DA shocks are taller than the EK shocks, so you might have unpredictable ride height. If you have coilovers it shouldn't be a problem. Also, use the tophats from your Civic, not the Integra since the rubber inserts are shaped differently - if you don't have Civic tophats, you can use the Integra ones. I don't think there is anything a dremel or some creativity won't fix if you can't get the springs to sit perfectly.
I would also advise getting some brakeline brackets to go around the smaller front shocks, so you don't have to resort to zipties to hold your brake lines out of harms way.
