Default dashboard swap

i went through the search and found some information on swapping my dashboard. just want to clear up a couple things before i do this. first, my car is an 89 hatch and i have a 90 crx parts car that has a dashboard that is in much better shape than my hatch, and looks better too. am i going to have any problems with swapping the two? i can't see how any of the bolts would be any different. i saw one person say that the guage cluster needs to be from 88-89 to match my 89 or the tach won't work???? does that sound right? why wouldn't i be able to use a 90-91 gauge cluster in my 89 once i swap the dashboards? were the instrument panels wired differently? thanks in advance.

No, you won't have any problems. It's pretty straightforward.

As far as the gauge clusters go, you will have to do some wiring work (swap the plugs) to use the '90-91 gauge cluster in your '89. Wiring charts for the conversion can be found here.
