Default shot peened rods

how much does it usually run to get them done? Also are they worth it? I already have aftermarket valvetrain and aftermarket pistons. running 12.5 compression. im going to get some aftermarket rods, but i was wondering how strong are the rods after you get them shot peened?

Shotpeening compresses the surface layer of a metal piece to pre-tension the surface so cracks will less likely occur and if they do occure will propagate more slowly than non-shot peened surfaces.

However for stock rods, the surface is already tough in the as-forged condition. I don't see the benefits of further surface layer compression.

Proper shot peening will also most likely deform the rod and the rod should be check and resized if necessary.

I got my LS rods shotpeened and resized for 75 bucks. Hendrins Racing in NC did mine. He said that B-series Honda rods are already shotpeened from the factory. It does look like.
