Explain "stopped working." The fan stopped blowing, or it's just blowing cold air?

In your engine bay there is a little valve near the firewall, where the coolant hoses run into your cabin. Make sure it turns when you turn your hot/cold dial. If it does, and you still get cold air blowing, it probably means your heater core is clogged or something. If it doesn't turn, the link between the dial and that valve broke/fell off/is off somewhere in between.
