Tip: SPYWARE/ADWARE
MSCONFIG
1) Click on Start>Run.
2) Type MSCONFIG in the Open box and click OK
3) Click on the Startup tab of the System Configuration Utility
4) Click on Disable All
5) Click OK and then click Restart Computer
6) When the dialog appears after Windows restarts, click in the checkbox that says "Do not show this message again" and click OK.
Windows XP does not require anything in the startup items to work properly, but some programs such as those for your Internet service provider may need to have checks placed. If you find any program that does not work properly, you can go back to the system configuration utility by following the above steps and place a checkmark next to the program on the Startup tab. If you are not sure which box needs to be checked, you can contact the program publisher or simply use trial and error until the program works properly. This method also does not eliminate all spyware and adware, which leads us to the next step.
ADWARE SOFTWARE
Adware software and viruses contribute greatly to system slowdowns and system errors. Adware software can be installed by going to certain websites (such as casino or other questionable websites), by Kazaa and other file sharing programs, by downloading "freeware" or "shareware" software and sometimes without you doing anything at all. You can download AdWare/Spyware removal software from <http://www.lavasoft.de/> or <http://www.safer-networking.org/>. Both programs are free. You must manually run these programs, they do not automatically protect you like anti-virus software.
A pop-up blocker such as the one available from <http://toolbar.google.com/> will keep pop-ups that can be inadvertently clicked on from popping up. In addition, do not click on links in email from people you do not know, or click on any buttons in pop-up ads other than the "X" to close the ad. If a pop-up ad will not go away or let you close the web page, simply close Internet Explorer either by clicking the "X" on the Internet Explorer Window or press Control+Alt+Delete, select Internet Explorer from the list of running programs and then click on End Task.
It is also advisable that you use a firewall such as Norton Internet Security, BlackICE Defender, or ZoneAlarm and that you keep your anti-virus software up to date. Please note that AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo or other web-based (i.e., you do not download your email in Outlook Express) email cannot be scanned by most anti-virus software which means you have to be more diligent about scanning your computer system as a whole. A Firewall may cause your Internet connection to not work properly or websites to not display - you must familiarize yourself with how to utilize a firewall and work with your Internet provider to make sure it is configured properly.

haha. also let me know if your interested in a trade.
