Can you pass smog in CA with Buddy Club III+ cams?
Kind of OT: It must be inspection time or something because there has been a very large amount of inspection posts over the past two weeks.
That must be tough having to deal with that every year.
Do you, like a lot of other people, scramble to convert your cars back to stock just before inspection?
Aloha,
Brandon - Who is glad he lives on a small island in the middle of the ocean. = No smog checks.

If the non-vtec lobes are the same as stock, the car willl pass. The engine never sees vtec during the test. The smog check technician does not need to know what cams you run

Considering one can fail quite easily with stock cams, I'd say that statement is more than misleading.

Let me qualify-if the car will pass with stock cams, it will pass with any cam that has stock non-vtec lobes.

I'm not sure what it takes to pass smog since I don't have to worry about that where I live, but I'd imagine it might have something to do with fuel? Running too rich or too lean. If this is the case and if you're tuning wiht something like Hondata you could always have one chipped tuned for power, and have another tuned to pass smog. Chips aren't that expensive and very easy to install. Just an idea.
