which aspect of the emissions test did you not pass?

If i remembered correctly (disclaimer ),

if your hydrocarbon levels are too high, you are running rich and leaning things out with the vafc would help

if your NO levels are too high, you are running lean and adding fuel would help

if your carbon monoxide levels are too high, you might need a new cat.

hope to help

I thought that the vafc only helps on wot not at any other time w/ stock ecu.

For the thread starter can you post up your receipt from you Emission test? the read out would help to determine what's wrong.

I am pretty sure that VAFC could also do some part throttle tuning.

i have experience street tuning ITR engine with todaC and other misc item along with VAFC.

FYI i was unaware that obd2 still required smogtest in some states- ours just plug the ecu in and no CEL ur set.

also, obd2 VERY VERY good about sticking to reading the 02 until u go WOT.

if you try to trim ur VAFC while crusing the ECU will compensate and u will end up where you were until u try too much then itll throw a CEL (i think +/-15% per hondata tech document) so long story short, your vafc wont do jack to help your part throttle, and your ECU should basically correct any things you have done at part to achieve that 14.7-15.2 cruising afr

i passes my Emissions test last year, I put all my stock exhaust stuff on, but forgot to remove the VAFC. it barely passed on the NOX though, and when I say barely, the limit was 61 and I got 61, I think those were the numbers. YOu get the idea.
