Default ITB in a GSR?

Just wondering will i make good HP gains if i install a ITB's in a gsr motor with skunk2 intake manifold, dc 4-1 header, skunk2 camshaft with camgears valve springs and retainers, skunk2 chipped ecu, apexi vtec controller, custom pipings with a es oval muffler? I've heard that u need to have somewhat a built motor meaning port and polish etc. for the itb's to perform at it's best? My motor is stock internal wise so will it be a good idea to purchase the ITB?

It's very possible to make good power over your current Skunk2 intake manifold, however there are some things you need to consider.

First off, what exact Skunk2 cams do you have? You'll need different engine management, the cheapest route would be a P30 tuned with Crome 1.1.0's ITB tools. The only real issue with stock internals on a GSR is compression. You can still make power with the stock compression, but you'll make much more even with something as simple as a thin headgasket and a bit of milling. Consider moving up to a better header as well.

sorry about the confusion. What i mean by skunk2 intake manifold was that's a list of what i got in my car right now. I know the skunk2 intake manifold gotta go once i get the ITB but i was just letting u guys know what i have as of right now. Any idea on how much HP i will gain from the ITB? Or am i better to just buy a turbo kit? Im trying to stay away from boost since my last motor was a LS which i later turbo it, so im going in the all motor route this time. By the way i have skunk2 stage 2 camshaft, car hasnt been tuned yet but when i had a local shop install my camshaft they said i should be able to make pretty good numbers from what i got in my car.

There's no way to effectively predict a horsepower gain from an ITB setup, especially being that there are many different ITB setups. The Skunk2 Stage 2's should work nicely, however more compression is still highly recommended.

well, if you want the power, itb setup isnt the only way to do it. you might want to do a mild rebuild on your bottom end. try to go to a higher compression with some itr piston's or something. i have the itb setup on my gsr motor right now. and it runs a lil faster, but it sounds like a beast when i engage vtec though.
