Hey all i am a newb here. I curently own a 91 nissan 240 sx with an sr20det(apprx 300 hp) anyways, i am thinking about jumping ship and buying an s2k. I have owned a few civics , and having 3 family members working for honda helps too.
So my question is , I am looking at a 2000 s2k with 28,000 miles on it. It was in an accident and has front end damage. From inspection it looks like it will need New bumper, headlights , hood, and quarter pannels.Interior is good, and ngine runs good. It isnt driveable at the moment. The owner wants $13,000 cdn or about $9000usd. Is this worth it? Whats your guesses on how much it will cost to fix this ? I can do most of the work my self except for paint. Whats a good site for s2k body parts? Any problems with 2000 being the first model year?

$9000 is a steal.... make sure the engine is in working order tho and all the stuff up front, axels, suspension yada yada.... make sure the diff is still working... i would say get an inspector out and have that guy do an estimate on the car itself.... and then you can decide on if you can fix it properly or not....

9000 is a good deal considering that the damage it not too much. But from the sounds of it the project will take some time and work. I would bet if it has been it a wreck when there is that much damage that you will have frame work to do also. What side and where was it hit? Run a Car Fax on it just so you know a little more. If you search you will find tons of people on this site that will run you one for free! If you do decide to buy this salvage project the first thing you WILL NEED is the service manual. You can pick one up on ebay or a dealer. There about 40 - 50 bucks and a must have to repair.

Nice car s2kds, looks identical to the one im looking at. Just curious as to how far done u are now, time spent, and apprx price to fix her up.

 

Well I've had it for about a month. I try to work on it every day (few hours) I have all of the bumpers (04 bumpers), headights, etc. I waiting on some small parts to come in. I hope to have the frame work done in the next few weeks so i can hang all of the body parts and get it painted by mid april (in time for summer!). I would really like to see some pics of the car so i can help you out.
