Want to turbo my snowmobile
Anyone know where i could find a turbo small enough to turbo a snowmobile? I have a 1999 arctic cat snowmobile with a 794cc displacment and puts 104hp to the track. Here are just some basic pics of it i took from my cell phone

the tdi turbo might not be a good choice, but you could pretty much use any small turbo, probably have to make your own mani, but no big deal. another thing to think about...fuel management.
this would be bad *** if you could complete it, but it would take alot of thinking...

I would be doing a turbo kit on a car but sense im not 16 till may i thought this would be a good project to keep me busy and give me some experience in this kind of thing. So yea about that manifold u think i would be able to build it myself or could i get it pre fabricated?
Find a snowmobile forum.People have been doing it for twenty years. An engine shop I worked at made and sold kits fifteen years ago.You loose some of the tuning effects of expansion chambers, but the make some serious top end.

As it is at some of the long back straight aways at green water i have gotten it into the 120ish area but i would like to see it hit the very edge of the speedometer which is listed at 150 but i think that just mite be out of reach.
IS tha kilometer per hour or MPH... snowmobiles are ill..I almost flew off a mountain in Tahoe on one of those things... I vowed never to mash on one of those again...it just isn't worth it...
The Arctic Cat T660 came with a turbo and it looks very familiar to a mitsubishi turbo. I could get you one brand new if you wanted but they are quite pricey.
Believe it not mph my dad has had it the sleeves ported which helps the top end by a few mph's and i have a larger than stock pipe that has a little less back presure which doesnt kill the low end to much and helps a ton on the top.
there are a few guys in my area with turbo sleds, they all seem to be using the same turbo setup, ill try to talk to them this week sometime to see what it is, but the set up consists of a turbo that has no wastegate or bov. the way that pressure is controlled is by the fans moving different angles front to back of the compressor and the wheel itself turns, and changes angles. the inside of the turbo housing has mulitple runners to regulate boost. this turbo can be tunned for very small motors or small displacment car motors. the only problem with these turbos are the price... very expensive but effective ill try to get a name of the company this weekend
real cool and super fast
